A fishing lure is a type of artificial fishing bait which is designed to attract a fish's attention. The lure uses movement, vibration, flash and color to bait fish. Many lures are equipped with one or more hooks that are used to catch fish when they strike the lure. Some lures are placed to attract fish so a spear can be impaled into the fish or so the fish can be captured by hand. Most lures are attached to the end of a fishing line and have various styles of hooks attached to the body.There are many advantages when using the fishing lures:

2). Lures gut hook fewer fish (gut hooking is when the fish takes the fishing hook deeply, or even completely swallows the hook).

1. Depth

When you buy the fishing lures, you should take depth into consideration at first. We always divide fishing lures into 3 types by the depth: surface, sub-surface and deep. As we all know, the fish will change their movement area in different seasons, so the fishing lures should be different too. For example, most fish move into the shallow water to seek food in spring, so we should use surface lures when fishing.

2. The colors, light and water clarity

Fishing lures should be attractive enough for fish and then they will have a bite. If the fishing lures look awful, the fish will have no appetite. According to some researches, it has been a general rule of thumb that lighter colored lures work the best in clear water in stained or murky water fluorescent colored are favored.

3. Level of Fish Activity

Fish are less active in cold day because the water temperature is much lower than before, the fish will stay at the nest and even stop foraging. At the same time, fish are not sensitive as before, so we’d better downsize the lures and present the lures slowly.When the weather become warm, the fish will be active and you can upsize the fishing lures and move them quicker.
